Here is all the info you will need to know…

In this post you will find the packing list of what you will want to bring.  The Youth-Medical-Release-Form and the Event-Release-Form.  A trip itinerary along with some special instructions.  So please take your time to read this carefully.

If you are joining us on this summer adventure you will need to be at Covenant Community Church at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9th.¬† Other than your bags you will need to have a Youth-Medical-Release-Form, an Event-Release-Form, and money for – breakfast Sunday morning, lunch and dinner at California’s Great America Theme Park, any souvenirs or extra snacks that you want to buy along the trip. Sign up now for Odyssey 09!  Starting on August 9th the youth ministry will be departing for a week long road trip adventure.  The theme of our adventure is “Walking With God”.  Everyday we will be exploring what it means to walk with God and live in faith.   Along the road trip the youth will take part in a scavenger hunt in Solvang, exploring Morro Bay, Hiking Big Sur, Camping on the beach, playing in Great America Theme Park, touring San Francisco and finishing off with Yosemite Valley.

The Cost is $250 and your $50 deposits are due by July 8th!

The Jr High Crazy Tourist Night was insane!¬† We started off the night dressed in our best tourist garb and headed to Downtown Disney for a high energy scavenger hunt.¬† The Night was action packed with events like the Insane Race, Midnight Slip N Slide, The Great DC Challenge, Weird Al music video contest and much more!¬† Click more to see the videos… (more…)

Join us for this three day backpacking trip in Mt San Jacinto State Park.  We will have a pre-backpacking trip meeting on Wednesday, July 22nd at 6p.m.  You will need to plan meals for 2 Breakfasts, 3 Lunches, and 2 dinners.  Click here for the backpacking-check-list and meal ideas backpacking-menu.  You will also need a medical release and an event release filled out and signed by your parents.

We will meet at the church at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 24th.  Bring your own food plus money for breakfast on the way there and lunch on the way back.  The trailhead will begin at Humber Park in Idyllwild, CA.  We will be hiking 7 miles on Friday to Tamarack Valley Campground.  On Saturday we will make the 8 mile roundtrip hike to the summit of Mt San Jacinto at 10,834 feet.  Make sure to bring a camera for these beautiful scenic views.  We will be back to the church on Sunday, July 26th around 4:30 p.m.  Click here for the San Jacinto State Park Map.
