In May we have a full schedule starting out with the National Day of Prayer service at Heritage Christian fellowship in Orange.  We will meet at the church on Thursday, May 7th at 6 p.m.
The following Saturday, May 9th we’ll be hosting a homeless breakfast at the Santa Ana Civic Center.  Our youth ministry is teaming up with the Villa Park High School Avid class to put on this breakfast.  This is a great opportunity not only to serve the homeless breakfast but also to be a witness for Christ to the Villa Park students.  We will be meeting at the church at 5:30 a.m. and will be finished by 10 a.m. The youth ministry will need help the night before with food preparation starting at 4:30 p.m.  After we are finished with the food prep we’ll finish off the night with a special Bible study and worship time.
The next weekend May 15th through the 17th is the Joshua Tree Retreat.  We will be camping in Joshua Tree National Park, hiking, climbing, rappelling, and having a great time!  The biblical theme that we will be focusing on is “The art of a tender heart”.
On Friday, May 29th our youth group will be going to see the new Pixar animation “Up”.  After the movie we will have a coffee conversation about the world views and biblical themes expressed in the movie.
If you are interested in any of these events you can find out more details through the monthly youth ministry calendars and flyers or check back here at c3y.net.
Also look forward to information on Odyssey 09 a C3y summer adventure.  We will be embarking on a road trip through California August 9th -15th.  We’ll be camping, staying in churches, studying God’s word, serving, and taking part in exciting adventures!  Hence the name Odyssey 09.  The cost will be $250 per youth and well worth it!
